Connect the GSM hardware using TCP/IP

Requirements for connecting the GSM hardware to your IBM i™ using TCP/IP

A Serial Device Server is used to connect a GSM Terminal to the IBM i™ over a TCP/IP network, so you don't have the V.24-cable restriction. The GSM unit might be placed anywhere in the network - even in another part of the world, using the Internet.

 

The following IP-servers/Device Servers are tested with BlueNote:

  • NPort 5110 (1 port)
  • NPort 5210 (2 port)
  • NPort 5410 (4 port)
  • NPort 5610 (8/16 port)
  1. Lantronix: MSS100 www.lantronix.com

The following GSM Terminal are are tested with BlueNote:

  • Cinterion TC65, MC35 og TC35 Terminals     www.cinterion.com
  • Siemens TC65, MC35 and TC35 Terminals    (Now produced by Cinterion)
  • Falcom Tango and Twist Terminals                www.falcom.de

Use standard cables to connect the Device Server with the GSM Terminal.
