The planned changes in the upcoming 2012 version

Last year we added a lot of new functionality and new outputs to the product. This year we are focusing on improving the usability and the user interface.

The planned additions of the upcoming version are:

Auto Forms Control

• New conditional SPLF attribute: User data
• Easier change of program owner (called from AFC) into QSECOFR. Just press F10
• *USER as output queue for 1=Merge as for 5=Move

Graphical Designer

• Disable/Comment elements in overlay
• Preview for ZPL overlays
• Indication of Page Management on design elements
• Position to Top or Bottom when editing a sub overlay
• Error message "Unknown spooled file error" is now more specific

E-mailing

• Forward e-mails in error to administrator:
• Validate email addresses when entered via menu (Avoid AFC job with MSGW)
• Validate email addresses coming from splf/exit pgm. Error: Forward to email admin. (Avoid MSGW in AFC job)
• More search options in wrkmaillog
• Page range support for PRSPRINT spooled files in Page Management
• Work with MAILINTER subsystem on menu
• *None option for PDF attachment
• Support TCP/IP port for InterForm SMTP
• Support for email groups as CC & BCC receivers
• Support for HTML in BLUEMAIL

Export/Import

• Better message if journaling is not started during import
• Copy selectors for export as referenced resources

PCL/PDF output

• PDF: Compress included images
• PDF: Compress included fonts
• PCL/PDF: &&IMG: New Rotation field, GIF and PNG support for &&IMG *COLOR.
• APF3812/APF3812 command: With OUTPUT(*STMF) you can now create stream files in the IFS.
• Remove support for obsolete printer types (IBM*, HPII*, HPIII*)

User Interface

• F18=DSPSPLF is added to Split, Sort and Finishing definitions
• Description of the file set on the main screen
• Position to field, when selecting file set
• F4 for Code page in 2=Test print and 3=Merge SPLF

InterFormNG/Modules

• InterFormNG. Conversion service is offered (InterForm400 into NG)
• InterArchive. Better integration with InterArchive e.g. archive of emails.
• InterWord. Support for IASP (From version 5.22: PTF2393). Display last changed in WRKPCD (From version 5.22: PTF2393)
• PDF Security. Delayed call of closing exit program (PDF file naming) for *PC certificates (Digital signatures).

Now the program is not called before the PDF file is signed.

General

• Add change date to overlays
• Include "last used" in X-ref printout
